My exploration of low-code technology and Zoho Creator began in late 2015 and early 2016. I was then collaborating with a startup on a Proof of Concept (POC) for a project. At that time, I was unaware of how significantly low-code would influence my future.
Upon joining BSP in 2017, I quickly realized the potential of Zoho Creator and low-code. Confronted with a developer shortage in Canada, I looked towards Morocco for recruitment. The idea of recruiting from Morocco was influenced by my familiarity with the country as my hometown and my knowledge of the available talent there. The first person I hired was Oussama, a close friend and an exceptional developer, known for his analytical approach. We initiated discussions in mid-2017, and by the middle of 2018, he officially joined the BSP team.
Despite having a stable position in a prominent North African company, Oussama entrusted his career to the vision I shared with him about BSP. A similar vision was communicated to Aditya, who was the Creator partners manager in 2018. The goal was ambitious but clear: to establish BSP as one of the best Zoho Creator teams globally.
Between 2018 and 2020, our team at BSP flourished, expanding from 2 to 10 developers. This growth was not just in numbers but also in our deepening understanding and expertise with the Creator platform and Zoho in general. Our reputation as a leading Zoho Creator team in Canada was solidified by winning the “Creator Partner of Canada” award for 2021. Our second consecutive win in 2022 was even more exhilarating. It wasn’t just a stroke of luck but a testament to our dedication and the right strategy at BSP.
In mid-2023, we were very excited about the launch of the Zoho Creator Partner Hackathon. Driven by our deep respect for the Creator team and a chance to show our global prominence, we entered with enthusiasm. The reward was not just the honor of triumph, but also a unique chance to visit India and engage with the Zoho team personally.
When Zoho announced our victory, the feeling was indescribable. It was a mix of immense joy and responsibility. We weren’t just winners; we were selected to represent North America and the MEA region as ambassadors, showcasing the power and innovation of low-code platforms, particularly Zoho Creator.
The journey from Quebec City to Chennai, India was not just a physical one; it was a journey of reflection and bonding, especially shared with Oussama. Our welcome in Chennai went beyond usual business relationships, reflecting the shared values of inclusion and respect between BSP and Zoho.
Our time was filled with engaging activities and cultural immersion. We networked with global partners, explored the versatility of low-code solutions, and interacted with the Zoho management team. Insights into upcoming innovations and personalized discussions with different product teams enriched our experience. Visiting Zoho’s campus and exploring local culture, traditions, and sites like the Mahabalipuram temple were highlights of our trip.
This experience profoundly impacted me both personally and professionally, reinforcing my commitment to being a prominent ambassador in the low-code domain.
