What is your role, and what do you do at BSP?
As the Chief Financial Team Leader at BSP, my role primarily involves overseeing all activities that directly or indirectly affect our clients’ financial and accounting aspects. My extensive expertise in accounting and ERP software enables me to support our trainers, analysts, and developers, ensuring that our clients’ go-live sessions are conducted with integrity and completeness of their accounting data.
I also act as an advisor to our clients on more specific mandates involving various aspects of their financial accounting, process optimization, and KPI deployment.
What are you most passionate about in your job?
What I’m most passionate about in my job is seeing with clients how digital transformation is becoming an important part of their growth and how Zoho products enable them to do more with less energy. The client-consultant synergy still fascinates me, and I still find, after nearly 40 years of experience, that we go faster alone, but as a team, we go further.
I love talking with our clients’ directors, presidents, and IT managers to understand the business model, the challenges, and the risks, because this is the most important foundation for a consultant, understanding where the client comes from and where they’re going.
What’s one surprising fact about you that people might not know?
My basic training is in mathematics. I have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and IT from HEC. My CA training came later. I still find that my mathematics training allows me to maintain a rigorous and structured approach.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
Aside from the fact that I love going for long walks with my dog, I have three great passions.
Travel! If possible, I try to get away two or three times a year. Coming back with my head full of memories does me the world of good.
My guitar! It’s always close by, and I often take 15 minutes in the middle of the day at home to strum a few tunes. It allows me to shift my focus and switch off my brain in just a few minutes.
Movies! My day usually ends quite late because I love going to my “Man Cave” in the evening, when everything is quiet in the house, to watch a movie in my “Man Cave.” My partner would tell you, I’ve seen some movies a good ten times in my life. My two favorite Quebecois films are My Uncle Antoine and A Zoo at Night!
